Classes 

Chess Master Carl has over twenty years of tournament practice and over a decade of teaching experience to motivate and mold young players into champions. Meeting weekly at the Apt Chess School students will recieve homework and study materials drawn from a wealth of quality chess literature and state of the art software. A complete curriculum for serious students with master guidance is on hand to improve to the expert level and beyond. Classes are kept small (10 or fewer) with the aim of providing as much attention as possible. In class, students will enjoy a lecture period as well as a structured play time to spar with fellow classmates. It is the aim of the class to meet students where they are and thus classes are split into three basic groups: Novice(unrated to 800) intermediate(800-1200) and advanced(1200+). Depending on a childs skill level, maturity, and schedule class placement is flexible.

  • Class Schedule and Pricing

    Novice               Wednesday               6:15 to 7:15

    Advanced           Wednesday             7:15 to 8:15

    Intermediate       Thursday                6:15 to 7:15

     

     

    Cost: 65$ per month.

  • Private Lessons

    One on one chess instruction is also availible for serious students who desire to improve their game. Many of Carl's private students have made dramatic increases in skill level and rating after only few months of intensive teaching sessions. Carl  will pin point your strengths and weaknesses and then put you on a steady road to improved results.

     

    Cost: $40 per hour
